Kai Pangune Kim is a distinguished soloist, chamber musician, and educator. Her solo engagements were with the Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra (Sweden), the Wayne Symphony Orchestra (NJ) the Manhattan School of Music Symphony Orchestra, and the Seoul Symphony Orchestra of NY. She gave solo recitals at Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall, Texas A&M University, Seton Hall University, West Side Presbyterian Church Concert Series, Steinway Piano Gallery, Watchung Arts Center, and Richter Arts Center as well as in Seoul, Korea and in Sweden. She co-founded the Cosmos Piano Duo, Ironwood Piano Trio, the Cayenne Piano Trio, and created a CD with the Encore Piano Trio. She served as an adjunct at Bergen Community College and Drew University. She coached chamber music at Drew University Summer Music Camp and Hartwick Summer Music Festival and Institute in NY. Currently she owns Kai’s Piano Studio in Glen Rock, NJ and in Danbury, CT. She is an active member for the competition committee of Music Educators Association of NJ. Ms. Kim attended Gothenburg Conservatory in Sweden as a gifted student. She received her Bachelor and Masters Degrees in Piano Performance from Manhattan School of Music under Artur Balsam winning the Manhattan School of Music Concerto Competition and the YM-YWHA of Northern NJ Competition. She continued her studies privately with Seymour Lipkin and worked towards a Doctorate in Music Education at Teacher’s College, Columbia University with Dr. Robert Pace as her advisor.

Kai will be performing a series of duets with friends in a free concert on Friday, 5/25 at 7pm, at the Steinway Piano Gallery, on Route 17 in Paramus.
